Longjing tea, also known as West Lake Dragon Well tea, is named after its production region-Longjing Village of West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. Longjing has topped the list of the ten most famous teas in China and is characterized by its green color, delicate aroma, mellow taste and beautiful shape.
The five main production regions are Lion Peak (Shi Feng) Mountain, Longjing Village, Five Cloud (Wuyun) Mountain, Tiger Running (Hupao) Temple and Meijiawu. The superior geographical conditions and premium water quality around West Lake have contributed much to the growth of Longjing tea, comfirming the saying that "Longjing tea is the best among all of the teas in the world, and the best Longjing tea is from the Lion Peak Mountain".
